Brain cancer diagnosis
We can diagnose brain tumors using a physical exam and neurological assessments. Our doctors will use laboratory tests and imaging tools to confirm their diagnosis and also gather more information about the tumor, including exact location and size.
Doctors will then obtain a sample of your tumor to determine whether it is malignant (cancerous) or benign (noncancerous). A biopsy is most often minimally invasive.
Brain tumor treatment
Surgery is the most common treatment for brain cancer. To safely remove the tumor, we use advanced, minimally invasive surgical methods on many tumor types, including those that used to be inoperable.
Our multidisciplinary care team can address the complex nature of brain tumor treatment. This team includes neuro-oncology, neurology and neurosurgery and endocrinology specialists. We also have radiation oncology providers, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurse psychologists and social workers.
You may also receive chemotherapy, radiation therapy or targeted therapy, a treatment that targets medication directly to the malignant cells and avoids healthy ones.
Neurological rehabilitation
After brain tumor treatment, you may require neurological rehabilitation to regain motor skills and restore neurological health. If you need therapy and rehab services after treatment, rest assured you will receive comprehensive support in our rehabilitation center.
